Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I help the Trust staff with trainings queries and room bookings at the Education & Training Centre, solving different questions by email, phone or face to face. I also make sure that the department is ready for its use at all times by ordering office supplies and maintaining the trust standards.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I think that everyone who wants to work and gain a qualification at the same time should do an apprenticeship. At no time did I feel like I was being given more homework than I was capable of completing, and communication was always open with the tutor, so I felt supported at all times.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

With this NVQ I have learnt a lot about GDPR, project management, stakeholders management, among others. But it also helped me to develop my existing skills as well as improving my English and communication skills. I also feel more confident with some IT systems and Microsoft packages like Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very good in general terms. I had to do one module a month or so and then complete the required tasks before starting the next module. The order of the modules makes sense since you start with the most basic and from there the level goes up, so the challenge wasn't so big.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My manager made sure that I had my time protected every week, so we were always in constant communication. She was also aware of my progress and was open to help me in whatever I needed. In general, the Trust is very committed to employee education, so they are fully prepared.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

In my case I was very lucky to find my tutor. She is a person whose passion for her work is noticeable, so each session was enjoyable. She also put a lot of effort into working with me to get the best results possible. She was also available whenever I needed her to answer any questions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have managed to improve in many aspects while learning on my job role. Now I am much more aware of how to correctly use the computer systems, how to manage a project and what the regulations are, among others. I am much more confident in how to carry out certain tasks of my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

In my Trust there are many projects and activities that you can be part of, and at the same time gain work experience and meet new people. There are many work teams every day working on these activities, so you can get in touch with them in order to start collaborating.

Would you recommend NHS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend it because it is a sector in which you will always be able to grow and develop as a person and as a professional. There will always be a space for you if you work hard and represent the values of the Trust, you also feel that you are contributing something good to society.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
That they are clear about why they want to work in the NHS and are willing to show themselves as they are in the selection process. I would also tell them that the work is hard but it is very rewarding to work for a public service from which we all benefit.
