Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My job role includes stocking the store, carding the store to look clean and running my own till. I also have to answer questions from customers as well as, make sure the customer have the best possible experience they can in Aldi. I make sure that deliveries the store receives goes out in a clean and productive manner and make sure that the store runs smoothly.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I love my programme as this It’s aloud me to be able to grow as an individual and become part of a team/family of people who work in the store. Another reason I love the apprenticeship is because I’ve been able to push myself to achieve things I didn’t think I could like be Independent by having my own jobs and my own money.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have definitely learnt new skill along the first part of my apprenticeship with Aldi. I have learnt how to interact better with customer in a friendly and professional manner to make sure that the customer walk away feeling like they’ve had a positive experience. I have also learnt the importance of time management when working in a faced paced environment like Aldi because your always busy and have something to do so I’ve also learnt how to have good stamina to allow me to be able to be constantly working for long periods of time.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It’s very well organised! I’m contracted 25 hours a week as well as being rotated in to do my own independent theory work 2 times Week. It’s very well structured that I don’t have to do my work at home and that I can do it in a professional setting meaning I get more done and I’m more productive manner.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer because they make sure that I I have all the time I need to get my work done to a professional standard as well as making sure I get all my contracted hours in a week. I can confidently and comfortably go to my employer and as for help and more hours to get my work done and my manager will accommodate to that to ensure I get my work done.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I get lots of support as both my training provider as we communicate to make sure that im up to date to ensure that everything is done or is working to wards because done so I don’t fall to far behind. This is good as it allows me to feel like I’ve got support and people who care about me doing well while I do the course.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It helps me to be able to perform better because it shows me how to look at my role in a different light as well as making sure I know all the intellectual parts of my jobs and the things I necessarily wouldn’t have thought of like the types of customers, when to approach them and how to tell if they need any help through there body language.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
Not at the moment. I’m not sure wether this has anything to do with covid but I asked my deputy manager and he’s said they don’t have any as of this moment. I think this is somthing Aldi should definitely consider to bring together stores in the area and family’s together.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would definitely recommend Aldi to anyone because it a great job. It includes a lot of hard work and determination but it pays of with the great pay for apprentices as well as feeling like your part of a great family of people who all have the same goal which is the store being great and running well.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
I would give the advice of working hard make sure you understand this isn’t a job we’re you can sit around you’re constantly working. Make sure you have knowledge of how a store runs and what is expected of you before you apply/start because that will help you massively when you start. I would also say just have fun the job is fun when you approach it with the right mindset and just try and enjoy the people you work with as these are the people who your are going to be with on a daily basis. Lastly, don’t be scared it takes time to learn how to do things and how to do them quickly but after a while you’ll get the hang of it just try your hardest!
