Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I rotate between teams over the course of the apprenticeship, spending roughly 6 months in each team. I also have 1 day per week dedicated purely to my university work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I'm really enjoying my programme. The university work is tough, but my team at work are very understanding and allow me extra time for my studies when I need it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt competencies in different software, presentation skills, as well as basics in coding.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It isn't always clear when and where I will be moving placements, but my teams are always very helpful and make the transition smooth.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is very helpful, when I'm struggling with university work my team offer to help me understand it and allow me extra time. They always have time to explain work to me and are happy to answer all of my questions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
I haven't found the university to be particularly helpful, however my team at work are always happy to help when I'm stuck,
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The degree so far doesn't match up to my job very much, however it has given me a grounding in IT which I didn't have before and I'm beginning to learn Python which is a useful skill. I would say my teams at work have taught me the practical applications of my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We have drinks after work once a month, but the apprentices meet up more regularly.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BBC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have found everyone I've worked with to be really helpful and understanding. There is also plenty of opportunities to try working in different teams and roles.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
The degree part is tough, but as an employer, the BBC is fantastic at providing support.
