Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am currently in my 5th rotation in Market Strategy and Operations working on client engagement. This involves planning events that we invite our clients to, which can include sponsored events in my market, awards nights, hospitality etc. I am also responsible for workforce planning in my market, and some business review data.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have gained so much experience in various places of the business with it being a rotational programme. This has enabled me to experience different business areas which not everyone gets to do - meaning I have been able to build networks across the business.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a lot about planning corporate events and the importance of being really organised. I have also improved on my excel skills by now being able to perform equations and data look ups - enabling me to be involved with more data handling.
I have also developed my project management skills - by being able to follow a project plan, and supporting various people in my team in delivering the project.

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very structured - we do five 6-month rotations and one 18 month rotation (to specialise in). Our rotations are monitored regularly by our cohort leaders and are regularly checked in on to see how we are performing against deliverables and university work
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We receive a lot of support through a dedicated study day every week for university and regular training and well-being checks
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We have workshops/lectures bi-weekly and online reading materials to read throughout each module. We also have a skills coach whom checks in every 8 weeks to see how we are progressing and feeling
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It links to various elements of Visa business activity, so it is very relevant. It does depend on your role at the time - as some content may not always suit your role, but the knowledge you build is all about the role of being a manager and the tasks you undertake.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am part of the next generation social committee, I am particularly responsible for networking events for our interns, grads and other apprentices. There are also lots of networking events for everyone across the business which I attend regularly to broaden my connections in the business.

Would you recommend Visa to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The culture at visa is very positive - there is a strong focus on enabling well-being but also career progression so everyone can grow. The pay at visa is also great and is competitive - you receive great benefits e.g. gym memberships. Everyone is also super lovely and willing to help.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Visa?
To do some research on the company and changes in the payments market - it really helps, it will show that you have passion and interest for Visa and have done your research.
