4/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I have PMO responsibilities for my team's project which involves minute writing, setting agendas and leading meetings, logging decisions, owning the project plan, maintaining the project budget, processing invoices
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
My programme does require regular work and status update and it helps a lot that my role is so related to project work. I learn a lot from my programme every week

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes I have learnt about decision gates in a project and the lifecycle of a project. Although I understood real life project work I can now relate this to project academia and understand the deeper meaning behind each element of the project e.g. decision logging

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Now that I have a new instructor my programme is very organised with regular updates and seminars
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
When I ask for help I receive it and when I highlight a requirement to work on my apprenticeship it is accepted. However I am not actively asked for updates on my apprenticeship and they don't review my learning so it is independent study in the main
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Lots, they are always an email away and are very supportive with how to improve and what to do next. I think more updates would be good but then again the independence is good
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification has helped me tremendously in my role as I understand the wider context of what I do and why we do it
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
We have fund raising events and an annual day out

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because you are developed and trained. You have regular meetings with your leaders and are given a high level of responsibility. It is difficult at first but once you understand your role you can feel accountable and driven
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
Expect to be overwhelmed and work at a very high speed. Aldi teams are efficient but work to a very high standard so you will be part of a very hard working team. Working in driven teams you will have the opportunity to learn from everyone around you
