Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role within the organisation is to help line managers and supervisors co run a small team alongside them. This includes completing my own responsibility of my role which includes
- Organise employees as appropriate
- Book jobs
- Prep jobs
- Produce the following days work and issues
- Ensure safety of all staff is consistent with the organisations regulations and policies.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the aspect of gaining new opportunities and being able to work alongside other team members/departments. Being able to interact with others and work on project together means that I have been able to build a report with people which in hand has made them feel as though they can trust me in the future with projects and tasks.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
From starting this role back in 2020 I have learn't many new skills which if I hadn't taken on this apprenticeship I may not of been given the opportunities to achieve. The biggest skill I have gained is what it takes to become a team leader. Within this I have gained the confidence to lead a team and have them rely on me when needing decisions or answers made/given. My presenting skills have also been impacted on this. I know can address a room full of people and feel confident and carry myself within a professional manner which is something which I wasn't able to do confidently with before.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
At the beginning of my apprentice I would say that it wasn't very well organised in terms of what my plan was going to be and what the role was going to be which I was aiming for. After three months of discussions and trial and error we came to a break through and understood what my role is and what I should be aiming for within the remaining time of my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
During my whole time as an apprentice my mentor has been incredible and has been able to help myself through and questions or problems which may arise over the weeks. We have built a good relationship and we have an mutual understanding of what we both expect of each other during this process.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
We have been set up monthly meetings/reviews with our programme tutors. These have been helpful when needing to ask any questions or have concerns regarding my course and what direction it may be going in. Seminars have also been provided remotely for us and where given at the beginning of the academic course.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I feel as though my qualification will be useful in certain aspects, i do feel as though due to my day to day role a a different course would of been more beneficial. I am currently studying business admin, when my role is more team leader focused. I feel this would of helped me perform better from the beginning if this had been a discussion to switch.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Within the business we have multiple events which we can be involved in if we wish. We have a charity of the year which we have participate in. These events range from bakes offs, to walks, hikes, swimming challenges and guess the baby games. We also have events provided such as summer/christmas parties and sports evenings.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Siemens Healthineers to a friend?
Yes
Why?
This is a great organisation for those who want to feel as though they can consistently grow and better themselves and goals. There is always new avenues to go down and the support around this will be highly welcomed when shown. This is something which makes the organisation stand out from others.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens Healthineers?
Come prepared. Do your research before coming into anything. Be yourself, they aren't interested in what they want to hear. They want to know who you are as a person and what you can bring to the table as a individual but also in a team environment. Team work is vital within the organisation and this is something which they prioritise.
