Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a Client Coordinator, I work closely alongside the Client Advisor and assist them with their day to day admin activities such as requesting claims experiences, creating renewal questionnaires and setting up client meetings. With experience, I have been given the opportunity to speak to clients and attend client meetings and lunches.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am thoroughly enjoying my apprenticeship at Marsh McLennan. Considering I started a new job role during lockdown, I have been lucky enough to be welcomed into the team from day one. My manager always encourages me to push myself and strive for the best whilst understanding that I need to balance my study and work hours.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have gained confidence whilst being on the apprenticeship scheme at Marsh McLennan and I now feel more comfortable speaking to new people and building relationships with colleagues and clients. My communication skills have developed both written and verbally as I send emails, make / receive phonecalls daily and attend internal and external meetings.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I would say my programme has been well structered with the right balance towards study and practical work. I originally had weekly 1-1s with my manager however we have reduced these to bi-weekly now that I have more experience and confidence. I have monthly meetings with my DLS mentor to ensure that I am on track with the apprenticeship scheme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I have received more than enough support from Marsh. My manager is always there to offer support and is flexible when needed ensuring the correct work - life balance. Each team member acts as a mentor and they are always willing to take the time to support me through my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I have received a good amount of support from Davies Learning Solutions. I was assigned a mentor from DLS who I attend monthly 1-1 meetings with. These meetings are an opportunity to discuss any concerns and my mentor will set me tasks to complete thatwill contribute towards my portfolio of learning. The mentor is only ever an email away if needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The Cert CII qualifictaion has allowed me to see the theory that I have learnt in practical terms whilst in the workplace. I am able to put context to the theory when I see it in real life day to day situations. The qualification has improved my insurance knowledge massively.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
At Marsh we believe the importance of charity and giving to others. Marsh are partnered with a charity called Ambitious About Autism and regular charity events are held to raise funds. Furthermore, each employee is given a volunteer day where they can volunteer alongside their team for a cause of their choice.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Marsh McLennan to a friend?
Yes
Why?
My apprenticeship at Marsh McLennan has been extermely positive and I have learnt and achieved so much in such a short amount of time. This is not only down to my work ethic but the support I have received from my manager and colleagues who all encourage me to do my best daily.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Marsh McLennan?
I would encourage anyone thinking of applying to research into the company to gain an insight into the work they do. When going through the application process and particularly the assessment days it is important to be yourself and not be afraid to speak up in the group activities. The onboarding process was smooth and the communication from the company throughout each stage was well delivered.
