I work with different colleagues around the business to find out what they are looking to explore, and work with research agencies to conduct research on this. The role involves working with different people, alongside my colleagues every day.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am lucky to have such a kind and supportive team of colleagues around me who are always happy to provide me with a hand when I am in need of one. I find the work genuinely interesting and it can be challenging. Some days the work can be more difficult than others and it can be very stressful.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have absolutely learned new skills. Working with different people has developed my communication skills so much. My role involves quite a lot of presenting so I have noticed considerable improvement in my presentation skills.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The skills coach I liaise with from the training provider is incredibly supportive and will always go out of their way to ensure I fully understand the module I am working on, they will always provide me with quick support when I need it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Some of the modules I have worked on have helped me gain some skills I use in my day to day role. However a lot of the modules I have done were fairly irrelevant to my role and it was hard to complete them, especially hard when asked to provide evidence that I have done specific tasks in my role. I have recently switched units for my qualification though so I am doing more tasks that make sense in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are a lot of extra-curricular activities available and encouraged by M&G, for example we have a lot of online groups for things like well-being, music lessons, zumba lessons etc. I have never participated in any of these activities however they most certainly are available.

Yes
Why?
It is a great opportunity to work with supportive colleagues, gain a qualification and be paid a good wage. There is a lot of room for career progression at M&G (A bit later down the line)
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to M&G plc?
You should ensure you prepare for the interviews. Read the job description and follow recruiter advice. One thing I would definitely recommend from experience, is get to grips with Microsoft Office software, you will likely use it constantly in your role, whether its Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc., it will likely play a part in your role so I would learn how to use the software and its functions.
