Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Working within the turnaround and restructuring branch of EY, I support the team in completing independent business reviews (e.g. assessing the viability of funding requests), and in administrations and insolvencies. This can range from admin work, to data analysis, to client collaboration.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I love my programme. There's a great sense of community at EY, and the course is a good balance between manageable and challenging. Only 'downfall' is the time demand of the course - be prepared for late night working!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, presentation skills have been developed; accounting & bookkeeping skills; and written report creation skills. There is also extensive access to online learning platforms to grow any skill you want e.g. leadership, agility, data analytics, sustainability

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It is extremely structured, but can be confusing to understand this at the start. Don't be shy to ask questions whilst you're still figuring it out!
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As much or as little as I want! There are countless mentors/counsellors/buddys and other supports allocated to you, and a general team community, and they're all keen to support you to the degree you want/need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Good support - keen to help, quick to respond to queries/emails, and intro to each course. Downfall is being online instead of in person, making learning harder
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Definitely helps as provides context of accounting knowledge, and helps to better understand the accounts of companies I'm reviewing
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are lots of networking events and social activities. There are sports teams if you work in the London office, but not for Leeds - I would like to see some teams set up in the region, and am working towards this!
