Although it was virtual, they made effort to make it just as engaging as the placement would have been. We were given an insight to the practice areas and informed of what a day in the life at the office would entail.

It was great despite the virtual element because of COVID. I networked with some lovely people and it really did help my development on the professional sector.

What training and skills development did you learn from your virtual experience?

I learnt how to pitch as well as work in a team to create a convincing pitch. I also enhanced my researching skills in order to better prepare our pitch. It was great to be able to practice such skills in a professional environment.

The experience was very insightful for this, we were able to interact with a range of diverse individuals. However, this was particularly limited by the virtual nature.

It is a great environment, full of approachable and welcoming individuals. It has been one of the best law firms I've participated in a scheme with.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Clifford Chance?
Be yourself when talking to other, it your authenticity that allows you to flourish. Also don't be afraid to ask questions and be curious, it is the best place to do so.
