Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am an accounts Assistant and my role includes processing invoices/payments for suppliers, dealing with supplier queries, completing month end controls to balance accounts, dealing with duty charges and other various tasks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The programme is interesting and relevant to my job role meaning I enjoy it. It can be challenging at times to fit in learning and my work load but it is manageable. The programmes is engaging and this helps me learn and keeps me motivated to book future exams and stay on top of my revision.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learn't a lot from doing the apprenticeship, some being technical knowledge for the exams I have to sit but also within my role. I changed roles after starting the apprenticeship as I got a promotion and therefore learn't how to do a whole new job role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is well structured and I am allowed to choose when I learn and when I sit the exams, meaning I can be as organised as I need to be to balance everything. If someone was less organised, they may not find it as well structured as it would be down to them to arrange exams and learning time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive plenty of support from my employer. We have catch ups with the apprenticeship supplier and my direct leader attends to ensure I receive the support and time I need to complete the work that is produced from the apprenticeship. I feel supported by my direct leader with my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training provider is very supporting and we have 6 weekly meetings to discuss my progress. I have her contact details and can reach out to her whenever I need extra support. There is technical knowledge support also that I can use if I struggle with any technical knowledge when learning.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that the qualification helps me perform better in my role as it gives me a good understanding of accounting, helping me complete controls. I think it helps me stay organised too as I have to manage my time very carefully to ensure everything is completed for my role and apprenticeship.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I am unsure if there are any sports teams or social activities available. I wouldn't want to participate if there was though. There are plenty of additional training courses that you can opt to take like excel training and anyone from around the company can participate in these making it varied.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Aldi is a great company to work for as you are well supported and have many benefits to the job i.e. holiday purchase scheme, good pay etc. It gives a lot of potential for progression and gives you the opportunity to complete further learning i.e. the apprenticeship scheme.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
I would advise them to take full advantage of any advance learning they can complete if they get the role. They should prepare thoroughly for the application process as there are multiple stages and a mixture of questions that will be asked, they need to be ready to wow the interviewer.
