Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day starts with a list of rooms that I have to do. Then I have to go prepare my trolley and then strip the rooms. Make sure I have sanitised everything high dusted then bringing the clean stuff, the bedding and teasing coffees and all that that is that is basically what you do
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I would say I very much enjoyed the program. I have learnt a lot and I'm very grateful for my teachers who have supported me through the whole thing and I would recommend it to anybody to get involved in. I've learnt so much in the hospitality industry
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learnt a lot of the business side of it. Lots of the communication skills and how to interact with our customers and our colleagues and how important it is to have diversity within the company and energy efficiency and how your job even if you're just a housekeeper counts
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say the program is very structured and organised. You also have the support of your teachers and once you get everything into place, you'll know what you're doing and even if you don't, you can always go back to them and they'll be happy to help
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have always received a lot of support. Even if I am struggling with something I do not understand with my apprenticeship. I simply ask my manager or deputy head and they will happily give me advice. So I'm very grateful for them too and they help me understand things I don't understand
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have received so much support from my teachers and trainers. I am very grateful for their support as I'm a dyslexic. There was a lot of things that I struggled with but I was able to understand things simplified by them. Very grateful for that. Anytime I struggled with anything I was able to communicate with them and they would help me with it
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I understand a lot of the business side of it in a sense and how important it is to make sure that our customers are always coming first and that you know the hygiene side of it is always imperative as well as the hazards with the chemicals and all that
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I'm not sure about this one but I would have assumed due to COVID there would be a less chance of the extracurricular advisors to come out and get involved in events such as but recently I wasn't bited to go to the jubilee so I assume so

Would you recommend Whitbread plc to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think it's a very great program for people to join. Obviously you would have to have the time but everything was pretty straightforward. I had a lot of support from everyone I was around me. I'm grateful for that, including the teachers and my employers and co-workers
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Whitbread plc?
Don't be afraid to ask for help. I'm sure everyone around you would be willing to help you if you just asked. I know mass in English can be quite difficult for some people, but don't let that daunt you. There is a lot of support that the company is wanting to give to you
