Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am working within the consulting service delivery department in Newcastle. I am currently focussing on cyber security and am working on an active directory based analyst role in which I am working with a large bank to remediate user issues.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme. Despite being stressful at times to work on university modules whilst doing a 9-5, I am so glad I chose this programme and have the chance to earn as I learn.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt lots of new skills whilst at EY. We have the opportunity to complete learning badges in areas that interest us and I have completed 3 of these (15 hours of learning each)

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Fairly well structured. We are not all on the same project so it can be difficult to compare workload and performance. It would be nice to have the opportunity to work across different areas within EY.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We recieve a lot of support from EY. We have designated study days and sessions held to directly assist us in our dissertation and portfolio building.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Minimal. Our training provider has not been the best over the years. Emails are often left un responded to and our seminars are sometimes cancelled.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
Although I enjoy both university and work, the degree we are working on does not seem to correlate at all to the work we are doing, especially as we are all in different projects.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are lots of networks and extra curricular activities to get involved in at EY including sports, yoga, and even diversity networks.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes

EY has been a great organisation to work for, they support their staff to progress at every opportunity. If you want to do well and develop - they definitly encourage this.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Be confident in yourself, be outgoing and happy! Do some research about the company and make sure its a good fit for you and your career.
