Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day job involves analysing and testing financial information provided by a company to verify that the information to be included in their financial statements is true and fair
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy the program and the opportunities it provides to learn however at times it is extremely hard work and it can be difficult to manage work, study and personal commitments alongside each other.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have become much more confident in this role, I work with a massive variety of people across different age groups and backgrounds. I have improved my problem solving skills as I am encouraged to create solutions myself to any problems I encounter

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The program is well structured and exams are spaced out in a way which gives me time to focus on them or periods where I am more focused on work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I am supported in my role however I feel I receive more support from my peers than the company itself.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Tutors are available throughout the course and are happy for us to get in touch whenever we need help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Learning content in college allows me to apply my knowledge in my day to day role. This betters my understanding of the purpose of my work and how to perform it.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are many committees and networks within the office and we are encouraged to initiate and create any clubs that we feel passionate about.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
EY has given me the opportunity to develop both my technical skills as well as developing myself and my interpersonal skills all whilst working towards my ACA qualification which is equivalent to a masters degree.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
You should be yourself and be honest throughout the application process. Do as much research as you can about the day to day work and commitments required as it is a demanding job which requires a lot of hard work but is both personally and academically rewarding.
