Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Leading a team of 5-15 associates for delivering a product to be used by the customers that come to be served on a daily basis. Continuously looking for needs by the customers and ways to improve the service delivered, providing coaching based on the feedbacks for improvement in the delivery.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The program was easy to understand, some topics were very enjoyable, I liked working on a development sessions with other apprentices, developing skill while being part of a team with other people that went through the same program and had different experiences and different background. I gained new skills and had a overall good experience.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Time management, personal development planning, Self-awareness, feedback mechanisms, coaching, learning styles, behaviour styles, safeguarding, project management, planning and delivering, performance management, managing people, managing teams, stakeholder engagement and management, cross team working, leading meetings, difficult conversations, negotiation, communication methods and techniques, using data to support decision making, problem solving, strategic and operational planning, financial governance, delivering value for money, etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The program was well organised, with minor technical problems ex. some videos that were not available. And because I am working on nights, there was limited support. The provider might want to take a feedback to improve the communication in the future and also add more topics like kaizen, waste management and lean.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
Not as much as expected, at some point I had to ask for support and my requests were not taken in a timely manner. I am still struggling to get the things done as management at my workplace have poor communication skills and feedback mechanism. The organisational structure needs more development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The primary trainer had good understanding about the program and stepped in to help in organising alternative when the software failed in one of the exams, I had to retake the test again. I lost some time until this was organised, all of this was disappointing but I passed on the next attempt.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I have a mixed feelings about the qualification as I believe they need to adjust the program more in depth for the organisations and communicate this between different organisations and apprenticeship providers to restructure the delivering and the topics for better experience and organise more practical work to be done by apprenices during the program study.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
I cannot agree more on this, yes there is definitely room for improvement in regards to the uplifting skills for social activities and apprentices to be involved in delivering cultural activities, small team tournament in different sports and networking hubs, remote working activities, holding meetings with remote teams and groups.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Babington to a friend?
Yes
Why?
In my opinion, Babington employees have good understanding about the needs of the apprentices and the programs they offer. There is still room for improvement and I believe they are also looking into the feedback to improve this in the future. So yes, I recommend the provider to my friends and colleagues.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babington?
Take a step for improvement, to understand yourself and the others around yourself. Get out of that zone of comfort, if you want to make a success in your life, you need to take challenges in life. Babington is a great provider that will help you make a success in your life.
