the thing i enjoy most about this job is that i can come in and expect something completely different everyday as different things need to be looked at. so i may be doing things like welding, stripping and rebuilding components or even having to come up with ideas on how to fix something
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i enjoy the programme i am currently on here at jlr however it does have both positives and negatives. Some times information is not passed on to apprentices so we dont know what to do or where to go so communication is not perfect but i enjoy coming in and meeting people and doing thr work

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have learnt many new skills whilst i have been here before startring my apprenticship i did not know how to do things like welding or use things like the lathes or millers so id say being here has helped me develop some skills which help me out with my hobbies

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Organisation here is not pefrect id say it is ok the induction was fine everything was planned out, but as soon as we started in plant communication with us kind of stopped as we are not really told anything anymore id say i have more communincation with my trainer at college then with the apprentice team
How much support do you receive from your employer?

we recicve a good amount of support from our employer my manager is very easy to acess but everyone has different manangers. The Hr is not however as during covid they changed to email only and they email you back on your works email but we dont have access to them so its hard to contact them
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

when i was with my training provider the support was great they were always there if you needed help and you have meetings with them every 6 weeks even when you start full time in plant as you still have nvq things to do i cant really fault them as it was good
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

in my role personally the stuff i have learnt at collge helps alot and this is because i did things like milling and turning at college and this sort of stuff is what is use day to day at work as well as this welding helps as i need it to weld jigs.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are after curricualr activities for us as apprentices to do but you can only find out about them if you have access to a works computer which is no good for alot of people as you have to use a jlr computer to acess the works teams which is where they plan stuff

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Overall i would say jaguar land rover is a great place to work as you are learning so many different things to do and there are many different paths you can take, as well as this the money and the pension is great there just a few problems with jlr but they are minor
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
when applying really take your time when going hrough the application process as the tests are complicated but you will be fine if you take your time. Be yourself in the interview and really show yourself off. Its a great experience so just give it your best if this is something your intrested in id say go for it
