Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
Apprentice vehicle tech, spend each day learning how to work on cars completing maintenance jobs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I enjoy it to an extent however there is a serious gap between expectation and reality.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
I've built on my skills when it comes to working on cars however the college didn't assist me in developing my skills set.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The college side of the programme seems to have no organisation or structure, in the workplace our learner journey has been well structured and organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Support from employer is sufficient.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Our training provider does not prepare us for the job we do at work, the work at college seems irrelevant and is not delivered well.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
The qualification done through college provides little or no help to perform better in our role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
JLR provide an employee learning scheme where you have a budget to spend on extra curricular activities. There are other schemes to get on board with such as the team improvement circle.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
No
Why?
The job role is very different to what is advertised. In some areas of the business I find the culture outdated and uninclusive and I find it to be a very inefficient business, little action is taken when complaints are bought up and supervisors/managers can be dismissive.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
