Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Communicating with educational establishments to encourage use of Pearson qualifications and resources. Keeping up to date with the educational landscape to inform customers of the best choices to improve outcomes.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The programme is enjoyable, but you have to be self motivated and willing to give up leisure/personal time to achieve.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
New skills include an understanding of the wider business where I work, including marketing, finance, HR and a better understanding of business strategies, also developed existing skills, e.g. report writing, presentations.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It could be structured better by the provider, the OU. It could be improved at the outset if the tutor gave a timeline and the important milestones which need to be captured. Also find inconsistencies in tutor experience, as you have different tutors for different modules. (I did 6 modules)
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
20% of my working hours was given for study time, plus two hours per week. Talking to students from other companies they often struggled to have the time to study. At Pearson there is a dedicated apprenticeship team, who ensure you take study time.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Not enough support from tutors, also inconsistencies, some tutors go above and beyond what is required, others are difficult to contact and give only brief feedback. I feel there needs to be an overview person looking after the qualification, it can feel very disjointed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It has improved my time management, increased my confidence and helped me to feel valued and respected. Also having a sense of achievement boosts self esteem.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are some get togethers for students, but these are students studying for a variety of qualifications with different providers.
