Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
My associate mentors included me in internal meetings so I got to see how the teams operated virtually.
A few of my tasks involved research into different points of civil procedure. I also compiled research for an internal ESG newsletter.
I met (online) with my mentors almost every day and enjoyed speaking to them about their career trajectories and what their work entails on a day to day basis.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I was inspired to try out different areas of law which I had previously not considered. I did not realise how many non-legal roles there are within a law firm. I appreciated that lawyers partake in many areas of firm life and take on other responsibilities in addition to their legal practice.

Yes I refined my research skills and learned a lot about legal formatting. I was able to practice my drafting and public speaking.

People were very friendly and willing to talk about their work. I found everyone warm and receptive.
