Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Flexi time is great, so you can start/end whenever you want (within reason) I connect people who need info to the people who have it. You get to work with loads of external companies, and learn a lot of interesting stuff
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
This placement in NO way eases you in, or skimps on responsibility. Within a week I was working on documents that could influence a contract. Flexi time gives you room to go wrong, but they trust you to manage yourself.

Time management has been a big drive. You're given a lot of freedom, so when you go back to your manager at the end of the week, it's always good to make sure you've done everything you need to.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I describe it as they skip the deep end, and drop you straight above the mariana trench. Theres an absolute storm of acronyms and terms that would be alien to outsiders. Having said that, there's a lot of learning materials and very helpful colleagues. If you're willing to learn, and are interested in the subject, you'll do fine.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very good. Everyone seems to be pretty happy. Canteen is good, flexi time gives you freedom, and the early careers community is great!

Being honest, working at MBDA isn't going to be for everyone, but for those who are genuinely interested in what they do, and are happy to lead as much as they follow; it's great.

Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to MBDA
Do your research. Memorise the key products. If you play video games and their products are a part of them, don't be scared to say! It's a wonderfully inclusive team, and nobody will have a bad attitude to you unless you have one.
