Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work within the bankline department at NatWest Group. My role is as a digital applications team member. We are required to communicate with customers both verbally and via email to assist them in applying for Bankline. Bankline is a comprehensive version of Online Banking which is available to business customers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
My BPP coach has been really helpful throughout and always on hand for any queries. The online webinars provide great opportunity to engage with peers. My Line managers have been incredibly supportive throughout my programme and have provided ample time to me for carrying out my work. The company culture is something I have found to be far greater than other companies I have worked for in the past.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed communications skills through both the day to day role and the extra projects I have partaken in. During these projects I have had to communicate in a variety of different ways. I have also developed my teamwork skills through this as I have worked collaboratively with colleagues across the business.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The organisation lacked towards the start of the programme. The ALP changed within the first week and there was no contact prior to being 'on programme' from the coach. This meant that the first few weeks there was no communication to understand what was required. Webinars have on occasion been missed by tutors and had to be rescheduled but the team have always been quick to respond to queries regarding this and rearrange the training.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is very supportive of my apprenticeship. Line managers have always been on hand to provide witness statements to back up my assignments and have always provided extra time to me when required to complete apprentice tasks. They are on hand to provide advice and have given opportunities for progression to assist in my course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My coach is always on hand to answer any questions. Throughout the monthly catchups they provide advice to help you achieve the best results and are always available between these catch ups if you need them.
Tutors always stay back at the end of webinars to answer any questions you have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Natwest provides many opportunities for you to get involved in extra curricular activities. Whether this be fundraising for a charity of your choice or taking part in bank planned events to support the community. There are several coffee morning events available for networking also.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Natwest openly states that their vision is to champion potential and it is true. It is not often you find a company that does what it says 100% but from my experience they always do. The management team are supportive and will do everything they can to help you develop in your career should this be what you want to achieve.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Be yourself. When in interviews be sure to structure your answers in the STAR method in order to show off your skills and achievements clearly. Don't be afraid to ask questions and get involved in the extra curricular activities available to you. Make your name be known for the best reasons.
