My day to day role consists of attending team meetings and completing audit work. This mainly consists of the use of Excel and other software.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme as it allows me to study and work simultaneously, so I am gaining experience whilst also obtaining my qualification. It gives me the opportunity to work with different clients and people throughout the year, so i am always doing something different.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed public speaking and communication skills in this role, as it involves communicating with different people on a day to day basis, whether that is the client or your own team. I also gained confidence by contributing and presenting team meetings.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well structured. We are provided with tutors, counsellor's and coaches to help guide us through our courses. We are provided with our work and study schedule's, and are allowed time off work when exams are near.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer, as I have been assigned a counsellor and a coach who are both extremely helpful and are there any time help is required.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We have been given a tuition provider to help us with our qualification. This is an extremely professional provider who provides us with courses, course notes and help with topics/questions any time it's needed. We are given sufficient exam practice before we sit the actual exam to increase our chances of succeeding.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification is a chartered accountancy qualification with ICAEW, and the modules within it relate directly to my line of audit work. Therefore, I am able to apply my theoretical knowledge to my practical work, and vice versa.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are many social events hosted by the firm, and also with other students/apprentices to allow networking. There are also many sports teams available to join which partake in tournaments.

Why?
EY is a great place to work as it really values it's employees. As an apprentice i feel valued and i know that there is a lot of support available to complete my apprenticeship.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
I would suggest being yourself in your interview process. They will be assessing your personality more than anything, so let that be seen in the process.
