My overall is working in retail supply of stock to stores all over the UK. Using different integrated systems.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme, it's a lot of work completing both a full time job and a university degree at the same time but its completely doable. There is a definite need to put time aside for the work

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many skills whilst at work, listening effectively, speaking to individuals in the correct manner, presentation work, analysis.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

From the university it has a structure and i would say to a point its organised. There are some instances where it's stated something would be uploaded and it never is therefore we have to chase for a few things.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer does not track my grades/final year gradings, I have 121's with my manager where I can bring up info regarding my programme, its also up to you to put the time in, If you do not put the time in the employer won't give it to you, you need to be really clear when you are working and when the programme needs to take priority.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We receive a range of support, some lecturers are absolutely fantastic in supporting myself with my studies, whilst some you never hear of again so its a mix bag. Again it's a case that we are all adults and its up to us to ask for help if needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Very much so, I can see clear links between what i do in the office vs what i do at university. Especially when using tools/methodology's I am able to really adapt these when back into the office. I think the type of course I am on will support me into the future more rather than right now.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Currently no, we have business groups etc but they are all in work time. Social activities can happen and these are done as and when somebody wants to organise them.

Would you recommend Boots to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Boots is a great place to work, like with any global company it does have its issues but I think it depends in which function you work in as each person speaks differently. If I hadn't been employed by Boots I would never have completed my L4 Business qualification and i definitely would not have been able to support my career by completing a degree.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boots?
Be really clear what you want, also ask as many questions about the basics such as working hours, salary etc if you are successful for an interview.
Also find out their opportunities for development before applying, could they support you in a first aid course at work or something bigger its totally up to you.
