Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
On a day to day basis I'm part of the operational pharmacy procedures, from receiving prescriptions to dispensing them, all the way to the final check and hand out of medications to patients. I'm being trained in the professional leadership side of pharmacy as well as the clinical side where I get to apply the knowledge gained at university on the job. I am also involved in projects as part of the internship

I am being given opportunities that are really pushing me out of my comfort zone and developing me into the trained professional that I'll be by the end of it

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes, my pharmacy skills including communication, team work and other soft skills needed for things like consultations, and my leadership skills which are needed to manage the pharmacy team the I would be leading by the end of the internship to ensure the safe and effective running of the pharmacy

The company's structure and support is excellent and it's tailored to the learning outcomes of the profession's regulatory body to ensure that I meet the requirement needed for me to register upon completion of my training year

It's supportive. Fitting in and feeling like an important part of the team might have taken some time but the team has made me feel valued and appreciated

What advice would you give to others applying to Boots
Go for it. By hearing some fellow trainees' experience with other companies I do genuinely think that Boots' internship is probably second to none in community pharmacy
