Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
I look after all customer communications, in relation to the gifting category, at Boots. I am responsible for the delivery of all above the line marketing activations and manage relationships between the marketing team and creative and media agencies. I also am responsible for overseeing the integration of other marketing channels, ensuring cohesion across gifting campaigns.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I do enjoy the programme and feel that it has added to my knowledge of business, giving valued knowledge that has given me additional understanding and confidence in my career. It is difficult to always have the understanding from my business just how much work and time is needed so I have, at times, struggled to manage my time effectively. However, I don't regret doing the course at all.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, I have learnt how to build and manage relationships internally and externally, effectively managing timings. I have learnt all about different marketing channels and which work best based on budget, target audience and objective. I have learnt about end-to-end marketing management and how to deliver best in class marketing campaigns.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The amount of study days is perfect for me, I feel that we get sufficient support and time to understand assignments. It is sometimes difficult to have so much information in the space of two successive days. I do, however, I feel that they are always well organised and thought through and has definitely improved as i've gone through the course.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I would say I receive little support from my employer, all of the responsibility falls onto me. As, and when, I have reached out for support my employer as been responsive and no real issues have arouse. However, I feel that it is difficult for me to take any time away from my day job to do any work in relation to this course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I feel that the training provider has given the expected support for this qualification and as and when I have reached out for support, I have been offered it in a timely manner. When lessons are being delivered, the trainer is always open and helpful, answering questions and offering further support if required.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that this qualification has given me a greater understanding and knowledge of business that I have been able to relate to my job role. Completing the qualification has given me more confidence in my own knowledge as well as confidence to push myself in my role, particularly when leading meetings, interviews and presenting.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are several activities available at my work place. Some that I am aware of include: Football, the gym, running, webinars, meditation sessions, lunch and learns etc. I personally have taken part in lunch and learns, webinars, meditation sessions and pilates classes. At work, it is also common for teams to organise their own social events outside of work hours.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Boots to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The lessons are always of a high standard and I feel that lectures and lessons always have an open and inclusive environment. I have enjoyed the intimate nature of the course which I have been on, as it's given me chance to make connections with peers and trainers. Overall, I have enjoyed the experience.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boots?
Be open minded when joining University and say yes to opportunities that come your way, as it will all add to your confidence. Don't be too hard on yourself if at first, you don't succeed, there's a lot of adjusting to do and the trainers are there to support you.
