Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a welsh language work coach and help those claiming universal credit to get back into work or improve their financial situation. I engage with claimants on a daily basis and keep in frequent contact to try and improve their chances of finding employment.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme very much as it gives me the opportunity to learn more about the organisation I work for, but I also have the opportunity to work independently on a qualification that will help me in the future.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a variety of new skills since joining my role. I have started to work together with my team around me and have learnt about how the benefit system works, I have improved my communication skills, having to communicate with different people on a daily basis.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very structured and it is clear what I need to do during each apprenticeship day. The tasks are set out in a timely manner and I am aware of what needs completing and by when. The structure is clear and easy to follow.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have an off the job training day every Thursday and have plenty of support from my employer. They let me crack on with the tasks and ensure that I am working on task.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I am able to keep in frequent contact with my trainer if I have any queries or any problems. She is always quick to respond to emails and help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have learnt a lot about my organisation during my qualification and it has helped me to learn the ways of being a work coach, I now understand the expectations of the company and can work towards them.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have an Intranet page which covers all aspects of extra-curricular activities from sports to cooking there is something for everyone.

They have been very supportive in helping me to achieve my qualification and everything is set out with the perfect structure which is easy to follow.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babington?
Take your time with each task. There is plenty of time set out for each task to be completed in a timely manner so make the most of it, ensure to use your colleagues around you for any sort of support.
