Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

The day started at 10am. Each day we attended talks led by a variety of different people. After each talk, we were given the opportunity to ask questions. There were also activities we could get involved in as well. This helped us get to know our fellow participants better. We were also given a small project to complete that we then presented at the end of the week.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

I found it very helpful as I learnt about roles that I had never even heard of before. This has now opened my eyes to a lot of potential roles that I wouldn't have considered before.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a great deal more about the financial market. I also think this helped develop my confidence as it put me out of my comfort zone, especially when I had to present my project at the end of the week.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture and general atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. I felt very relaxed there as everyone seemed really nice and helpful.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I thoroughly enjoyed the insight week. Though there were some talks that I preferred more than others, I did find it all very interesting. I really enjoyed the ice breaker on the first day and the Codenames game we played as it enabled me to get to know the other participants and have fun. I really enjoyed the talks from the external companies like Morgan Stanley and NatWest Markets, as well as the Future of Work talks.
