mthree Spring Intern Review

The day was filled with various workshops on different topics, ranging from technical presentations on machine learning or web development, to introductions to some of mthree's clients such as Morgan Stanley, Amadeus and Natwest Markets. We also all took part in a group project, which was done outside the normal working hours. The project involved creating a chatbot for mthree's website. On the last day of the program, we all gave a 20min presentation on this project.

I think that was the strength of the program, because what was taught was not specific to one company but could be applied to many. Not coming from a Computer Science background, this has been really helpful for me, and in finding out what are my current strengths and weaknesses in attempting a career in tech. We had some incredibly useful talks which summarized all of the different job roles, and which skills were necessary for each of them.

I have definitely developed many skills in taking part in this program. The main achievement was developing my knowledge of the tech world and the different jobs that exist out there. As I am not studying Computer Science, this proved to be particularly insightful for me. I gained an introductory knowledge of machine learning amd some aspects of software development. I also developed my teamworking skills while working on the group project with my team.

The culture at mthree and its partners at Wiley was incredibly welcoming. Everyone was so happy to have us there, and that was shown through the number of linkedin posts in which we were featured during these few days! We got all of the speakers' contacts and I have gained many useful connections on linkedin. I really enjoyed the insight. If I had to criticize one thing would be that sometimes there were a lot of talks one after the other, without any breaks in between, and with everything being online, losing focus is easy. However all of the talks were really interesting, so I always did my best to stay focused. The group project was so fun, I got along very well with my team and we gave a very good presentation at the end.
