Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
Since covid I was responsible for adhoc projects and supporting difficult members of staff. I dealt with a variety of internal and external stakeholder at varying levels of varying complexities. I was responsible for developing processes as a result of covid and trouble shoot queries from members of the public.
My new job is programme management and my day to day role is to support project managers to deliver the project to the agreed specification. I provide support and guidance to drive the projects forward.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
My skills coach has been easy to talk to about all aspects of the programme and work to ensure I get the best out of the apprenticeship. I feel that I am able to have open and honest conversations and she knows when I need pushing and when I need more support
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
My new role has taught my the complexities of the NHS ICS and how to bring your whole self to work
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
How much support do you receive from your employer?
However, my new employer so far have been really supportive and enabling me to focus on my apprinticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
I have found that my skills coach is able to provide the level of support I need, especially when I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed. She arranges calls if I need and replys to emails promptly.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
As I will be based in Birmingham for my new role and the reduction of pressure at work I am hoping to attend more activities

Aston is a really inclusive place and will support anyone looking to learn. The facilities are exceptional and modern and make the most of the on campus days
