Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My job role is to support nurses and doctors with procedures and chaperoning when needed. I also assist the other support workers when needed. I also have an admin role which requires making appointments as well as other admin tasks, such as ordering stock, checking stock levels and replenishing stock
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I have enjoyed recapping my current knowledge that I have learnt through working. I have also learnt some new things during this course, through research and talking with other support workers. It has also made me realise how much I already do know and I feel well supported during this.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a lot during my for years in my job role. I have learnt how to take blood and help give patient advise. I have learnt a lot of medical knowledge surrounding my field of work. I have also gained a lot of confidence within this job role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well structured with a consistent amount of work to be getting on with. If you require any help, everyone is always very helpful and willing. Also, having a timetable of set study days throughout the year is very helpful when it comes to booking time off work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I have received adequate study time throughout my course, I have a consistent amount of course work to be getting on with so I find it very helpful to book my study days in advance and always have the opportunity to request more time if I wish to do so.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The support you get from your training providers is very good, they are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. If you are stuck on something, they are more than happy to work through it with you and keep in contact regularly to see how you are getting on.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
This course helps enlighten you on how much you have learnt through practice and experience in your job roles. It builds your confidence and knowledge to understand more about your work and also your patients. It also helps to hear other peoples experiences and how they dealt with certain situations.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
We have various types of extra- curricular activities at my work place and as we have been through a pandemic and face to face activities are few an far between, however we have online classes such as exercises classes that are available online for us all to take part in.

Yes
Why?
I would recommend Solent NHS Trust as a place to work because we are well supported, especially if we have any problems or issues, we all work together and support each other consistently. They are very flexible with their working patterns and provide an excellent service and support for patients.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
There are many opportunities to progress in the solent nhs trust, they support you through your journey and provide an excellent experience. If you need any extra support or have any issues, it is easy to express the concerns you have and you will be well supported during this time.
