Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
It was a 4 day course for students with 2 years until graduation. There were client speakers (mostly financial firms) which were a bit dull and I didn't really learn much from much of it as a computer science student. However it was good for networking and I would recommend it to non-computer science students for learning. However the opportunity for internships makes it desirable and an all round OK spring insight week.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
There was a thorough description of potential roles and procedures for getting into internships, what happens in them and after graduation as well as potential roles.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
No, it was mostly speakers and less workshops for which there wasn't much participation. Something similar to Bloomberg's would have been better as they do coding however I understand this isn't viable as not all students study computer science in this internship.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Wonderful atmosphere, jokiness and generally enjoyable. Only lacking element was skill development rather than focusing on clients and lecturing on companies rather than skills.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
A relatively good insight considering it was the first they did, they seem responsive so it's also possible the program will be changed by the next iteration. As a computer science student, the learning opportunities were lacking, the lectures on companies could also be dull. However, the networking was good and the career opportunities for internships also seem good. To non-computer science student looking to learn about the industry it is a definite yes.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Wiley Edge
Just show passion for technology, it's their primary focus. Also, prepare for standard behavioural questions but that's really it.
