Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Factory life in food production. Involved with the shift pattern and able to experience hands on learning. 20% off the job to do University work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I love the hands on learning, friendly staff with everyone willing to help.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Working as a team, networking, problem solving, training, food safety.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well structured, have early contact with your university tutors, have a factory mentor to help with any problems. From the get go they want to know about your progression preferences.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Lots of support from my employer, weekly progress meetings, allows time off for 20% off the job to do University assignments. They push you because they want you to succeed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
They reply with quick emails, if you are struggling with deadlines or assignments they are more than help to help. Able to go to Lincoln University 3 times a year for practicals.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Very well structured. I can use what I've learnt at university and use it in my workplace daily. Using practical and theory based learning to provide a well rounded food production understanding.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
With joining during Covid, there isn't this element here which is a shame. So I'm not sure if this will be picked up again in the year.
