Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
It changes in general as I have been through multiple departments but it involves: fitting, replacing components such as pumps, motors, inspections, electrical fault finding, wiring new components, conveyor maintenance etc
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
Engineering can be enjoyable although challenging

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have learnt welding, turning and machining, good practice on how to fix systems, fault find and change components.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
College can feel disorganised from our work as some things do not correlate too well. Certain things we learn are not applied on site. Elements of on site work could be better organised such as support for end point assessment or how some skills need more time to develop than others
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
It has been fairly decent until end point assessment where it seems at points you are left on your own. I understand it is meant to be independant and challenging but support would be nice
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
College support is okay, they make sure you learn what is needed and make sure you understand the correct ways, the tutors are really good.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It shows proof of learning and I can understand the engineering concepts better
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
The social club is good as they have organised events to do such as golf days out, trips to places, go karting or paintball

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Nestlé to a friend?
Yes
Why?
You get a good qualification and get paid a good rate too.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nestlé?
You don't need to have the most engineering background in the world, as long as you put the effort in and show interest, you will do well.
