Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Opening the business, by starting the tills and checking the safe as well as setting up for breakfast then the day ahead for the guests. Leading by example and working as part of the team. Ensuring the customers have a great experience.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am enjoying learning and developing my mindset within the industry and my job role. Some topics are easier to get to grips with or I have more knowledge of and some take a little bit more time but I am liking the process.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Learnt more team leading and managerial jobs, such as financial and health and safety. Also learning to adapt to the team I have on shift, as this can vary. I have further enhanced my passion as I always strive to ensure everyone is happy from the customers to the team.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is very well structured and each leads in to the next rather well. I have sometimes been able to bring elements from other topics I have already done in to the current one that helps to further my learning and enhance my knowledge and understanding.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Myself and a colleague are both doing the same apprenticeship, which is nice as we can help and support each other as well as give some guidance as we are both doing different topics. It cane be difficult to find time and sit down with our manager to discuss though.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
[This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is very supportive and is on the other side of the phone or email if I need her. She always gives help and guidance and encouragement where required.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It has helped me to understand the business and the company much more and the bits that you don't tend to see. I have also became more aware of the kind of leader I am and want to be and also how to get the best from the team.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
No there aren't but this could be something I could put to the rest of the management team to see if we can come up with something.
