Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Shadowing experienced Engineers around the site and helping out/learning how to maintain the various machines and understanding exactly how they work. I also partake in external learning from my training provider North West Training Council, they set me work to do such as assignments and jobs around the factory as well.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am loving the apprenticeship so far. I am learning something new everyday and getting paid a wage to do that. I have had the privilege of living in Liverpool for 17 weeks to complete training down there which was all paid for and I have met some great people as well.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have been able to both develop current skills and learn plenty of new ones during my time at Nestle; I have learnt how to weld, to use a lathe, use a milling machine and many other machines. I have also continued to develop my problem solving skills as well.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say that the programme I am on has been put together well. I have learnt a lot in quite a short space of time and Nestle have a clear idea of what they want from me when I finish my apprenticeship. Overall, I would say that my apprenticeship is well organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Nestle are a great company to work for and there is always support available if it is needed. Everyone is very friendly and very keen to help with pretty much anything. I also have regular updates with my superior's to make sure I am doing well and if I need any support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I feel like my training provider has been great. They clearly know what they are doing and they know what to expect from you; to add to this, there is a plan in place that I am following to make sure that I achieve the qualification I am working towards.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My training provider has taught me plenty of important things that in my role, are very important. I have learnt how to do things such as welding, fabrication and turning which are all very important processes that are used regularly in an engineering setting. I am very happy with my qualification.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty of other things to get involved in at Nestle and there is a wide range too. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with networking and volunteering such as going to schools, etc. There are also plenty of social events that take place externally and internally.

Yes
Why?
Nestle is the biggest food and drink manufacturer in the world and the possibilities within the company are endless. For example; you can go extremely far within the business if you have the drive to do so and the amount of opportunity you get within the company is incredible too.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nestlé?
Before applying I would ask myself:
Am I a problem solver?
Do I work well within a team?
Can I adapt to situations quickly?
If my answer to all three of these questions was yes, I would apply straight away. Nestle will give you great opportunities, you just have to take them.
