Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
Stock counts and ordering and line checking along with people managing activities such as appraisals and personal action plans. Day to day I am in the kitchen ensuring that food quality is high and the team has a good morale
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
I previously undertook the diploma course and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was stressful at times but I feel that it has helped me to become a better manager
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I therefore spent a lot of my own time trying to learn all of the aspects of being a manager.
I have now been in my position for around 10 years and have learned that the best way to run a kitchen, is to have a strong team of loyal and well respected staff working along side you
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
How much support do you receive from your employer?
I am given one day off a week that is dedicated to study, which is a huge plus as I'm not sure that I would be able to complete the work without this
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
They have also held sponsored walks and runs as well as others things.
