Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am a step up team leader and my responsibility’s are giving my team support where needed, ensuring the establishment runs profitable and effectively and ensuring we are following all the correct laws and procedures in the establishment. I have to lead by example and guide the team into success.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have loved learning about all the different types of leadership styles and ways to engage my team. This has really helped me progress as a person and as a duty manager at work. I can now effectively use everything I have been taught by [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] during my shifts at work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a lot from my guidance from [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and she has taught me a lot about myself as-well. Not only has she been there whenever I have needed her but she has supported me through my English which I never thought I would do so so I can’t thank her enough!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I have to admit when I first got enrolled into the course I thought it would be a lot of “just getting talked at” instead you can go at your own pace to work around work and [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has been more than accommodating to work around what I can do.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer is there if and when I need so but rachael has been my first go to for help during this process. My general manger couldn’t be more supportive in me progressing and has awarded me and appreciated me where needed to give me the support to keep going
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
As I’ve said in previous questions. I cannot thank [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] enough for the guidance and support she has given me. I have had my ups and downs but she has pulled me through it every time. Whenever I have needed her she has been there straight away so I’ve never had to worry
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
With the training I’ve been provided by [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] I’ve been able to progress as a person and really start to understand them business legislations and operations. Everything I’ve been taught I have managed to use on a day to day basis in work life. I feel a more confident manager.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At the steamboat we are a close knit network and the team and myself do socialise on a regular basis. We don’t feel the need to form a “network” we are a little family that go above and beyond to be there and support each other in every aspect

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Whitbread plc to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Whitbread has really given me “my time to shine” before I started here I had nothing and no one to go too and I’ve built myself up as a person as to a manager and I’ve of never have done it without the support from my company whitbread
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Whitbread plc?
Expect to take on a whole new team/family as you jump into a role to progress as far as you want to go with contracted hours and all year around jobs. No zero hour contracts yay! Training is beyond what is expected from an employer with support from your gm whenever you need it
