Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
Apprentice Nurse - work as a health care assistant alongside my degree / student placements
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
Has good and bad days - mainly quite unorganized which leaves me stressed

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes - catheter care, wound care, injections ect

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
Not very structured - constantly feels confusing and is quite easy to get left behind and feel lost
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
In my health care assistant role - lots of support. On student placements it varies; have had some bad experiences
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Training provider is quite supportive
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
Don't think it helps me perform better
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
Covid has put a stop to these - feel the trusts workplaces staff are quite 'clicky' therefore it wouldn't be something I'd be interested in anyway

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NHS to a friend?
No
Why?
Personally have had a hard / stressful experience with it
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
Be prepared for the lack of organization - feel you need to be a mentally strong and an overly positive person to get the most out of this apprenticeship, there is not much support if your mental health declines
