Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Currently I am involved with internal marketing, this consists of news letters, a monthly review of statistics and general design work. I have recently taken on project work which has been interesting so far. Once a week I do 7.5 hours of college work (20%).
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I love my program, everyone there is extremely helpful and understanding. My line manager especially is amazing, guiding me in every aspect of the business and through my apprenticeship. If I would like to do something I can, if I need something it’s provided without question.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Communication skills, confidence, team working, creativity, time management and general management have improved significantly. Collaboration is also an interesting factor of my role that has also improved. Seniors do listen to younger members of staff which is refreshing
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

WSP has an amazing structure for apprentices, everything is done by the book and is pretty smooth.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As I said before, my employer couldn’t be more supportive. If I’m interested in doing something I can, if I need something I’ll have it in less then a week. My line manager is especially the rock of my apprenticeship, always wanting to be involved.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider however can make the course stressful especially in the beginning with enrolment as it wasn’t the easiest, the systems they use are also confusing and the support isn’t the best. I will give them the benefit of the doubt on enrolment.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I suppose the work makes you reflect however, I don’t feel as though the training provider tailors courses to the company. Sometimes I cannot comment on questions due to my role and it’s hard to come up with other evidence.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have amazing social events, our team are our regular be it a fun night out, football league on a Tuesday, office parties with games or going out for food on a lunch and see how everyone is getting on.

Would you recommend WSP to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have already recommend to a lot of friends from lower years and my year (year 13.) The company challenges you to better your career and has apprentices at heart when making decisions.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WSP?
Be your self, your interview is usually taken by your manager. Applying is easy with tough competition. Spend some time completing the character tests but don’t beat your self up over them. If you get the role be polite and dress smart!
