Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We were given different tasks each day which were set by a different department e.g. corporate, banking and finance. We were given numerous hours each day between talks to complete the assigned tasks and we were given the opportunity to check in with the person who assigned the task to ask any questions.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Each person who spoke to us ensured that their talks were both interesting and interactive for us. Gateley is different from a lot of law firms so I found it very useful to find out about their business structure.

I certainly developed my time management skills because I had to ensure that I completed tasks in the time we had allocated. I also learnt the importance of being very precise in my work.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture was the first thing that drew me to Gateley and I was not disappointed. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and really put in a lot of effort, which was more difficult due to the vacation scheme being online.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed the week, although I must note that I found some of the tasks quite difficult. However, this allowed me to push myself and see what I am capable of.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Gateley
Honestly, be yourself. I know everyone says it but Gateley really want to see who you are- so show your personality as much as possible! They don't want corporate robots they want real people with personalities.
