Marketing Executive Review

My role consisted of a variety of projects ranging from digital marketing e.g. websites, to more traditional methods of marketing such a print mailers. Each day at Baxter was a different day, and I would quite often have a mixture of work tasks to do, therefore this exposed me to the wider company allowing me to work collaboratively with other employees at Baxter.

Yes, after being at Baxter a few months, I was given my own projects to take the lead on. This significantly helped my personal development over my placement year as I was responsible for meeting deadlines, overcoming challenges, and contacting the right people for help. I also found that by having my own projects / responsibilities it meant that I was able to expand my network and meet new people in the organization.

I found that Baxter invested heavily in their placement students and I was fortunate enough to attend a 2-day presentation skills workshop ran by a professional. This enabled me to develop my corporate presentation skills which is vital in any industry and I was able to
practise the skills I developed on multiple occasions across my placement year. I also received training on advanced excel skills and became familiar with how to use Baxter's CRM system.

I found that Baxter were very supportive and welcoming to me as student. I was given all the necessary training I needed and I could always reach out to my manager, someone in my team or the person leading the placement program if I had any questions.

Baxter has a very friendly company culture and I felt very welcome when I joined. Baxter also has multiple 'Resource Groups' that you can join, for example, I was part of 'Best Place to Work' which consisted of smaller groups working together to make Baxter the best place to work!

I loved every minute of my placement year at Baxter. Despite the whole year being done via virtual working, I was very fortunate to have had the opportunities to be involved in a variety of projects which contributed to the marketing roadmaps/yearly targets. I also found that everyone at Baxter was happy to give up some time and explain to me about their role and their journey at Baxter which helped me with my career journey.
