Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
For 4 days a week I do office based work, with a small work load. Once a week I am at college.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
I loved the first year at college but since September working on site I haven't enjoyed the apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
1/5
In my first year I learned a lot at college full time with a great teacher, it was challenging and fun. Since September, beginning work on site with Babcock, I feel I have been sort of neglected in terms of learning and training dont feel I have learned anything new.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
Not much communication between the college, and babcock. Starting college with an unassigned teacher, having to work extra hours on college days for two years because units were not covered last year that should have been, class reps not allowed to attend meetings about the groups progress/happiness...etc
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
Depends on who I speak to for support, and what for. ADM is helpful providing info and sorting issues quickly. Most people in Babcock dont seem too interested in supporting apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Last year our main teacher was brilliant and extremely helpful, but not our CAD teacher. Minimal support from the college this year, I dont feel I have learned anything new or have been given any very useful help when requesting it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
Content we cover for our college work is not relevant to our role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes...but i dont really know about them

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Babcock International Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Ultimately its a good career to get started in for opportunities (as far as i have been told), trainees seem to get a lot of support unlike apprentices, and the jobs are well paid...But I would not recommend the apprenticeships.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock International Group?
