Commercial Development Undergraduate Review

No day is the same but I align priorities with my team and my manager on Monday and work on the specific tasks and projects for the week which usually involves research, data analysis, and reporting. My job is to primarily support the Commercial Development Managers in anything they need to build business cases and improve the product channels

I was accountable for my projects and tasks, their delivery on time and the quality of work. I also had support available for any task if required but I always felt like I added value to the team and the company. My manager also supported my choices in the kind of projects I wanted to get involved in and tailored them to ensure I got enough out of the projects as I contributed to them

Yes, I've had such a steep learning curve in my time at VWFS. I have massively improved on my data and analytical skills while I've also learnt some new skills like storytelling, communication, and working in a team in a corporate environment. I've also built a better a better understanding of the working world and key skills like time management, that are required in most office jobs.

My team and my manager especially were very supportive. Everyone is warm and welcoming and very happy to help so I was always encouraged to ask questions

Due to the placement being remote, everyone had to work from home and not many socials took place. However, when it was allowed, the team went out for a meal together which was really nice and we try and host online socials whenever possible.

I really enjoyed my placement, it would have been even better to be in the office more and interact with the Team and other undergrads in person but I am happy I did the placement as it has been a fantastic experience.
