Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
i look after children between 3 months and 5 years, as they attend the nursery. I put their care and wellbeing to the front of my mind, making sure they are safe while in my care. this involves changing, feeding, playing and completing learning journeys for the children, aswell as maintaining a good relationship with partents
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
really enjoyed the programme, lots of really really insightful information given and learnt through webinars and discussions. sister has now started training with them as she saw how easy and successful it has been for me, she is also getting on really well with the training and learning given to her

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
i have learnt a variety of things on my training, changing, dressing, manual handling, safe guarding, how the policy and procedures are completed, risk assessments, target plans, referrals. I have also learnt about theorists, food hygiene, health and safety, maths, english, ict, child development, stages of development and how to assess

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
i was given a break down at the start of my course, telling me week by week what i would be doing and when, this was really well organised and kept on track for the most part of it. all structured really well and easily completed by myself and others at work
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
lots of support given by my employer, allowing for time for webinars and discussions to take place during working hours, however i preferred them on my day off as i could focus easier. not alot of time was given to do coursework when at home as i was needed in the room
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
lots and lots, alot of planning and structure was involved ensuring i completed in the time frame. all webinars were easy to follow and extra support was offered if i needed it from the assessors. all very helpful in making sure i understood and completed all relevant work on time
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
i have worked in the nursery for four years now and before i completed my level three so i feel i knew alot of the information i was being told about before starting, most the webinars for already experienced workers is common sense and if people didnt know that they shouldn’t be around children in my opinion
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
no there isnt, only training and meeting held after work which we arent paid for, but get time back which allows us to finish early and be paid for a full day of work. we have a christmas party every year but we have to pay to attend that too

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Realise to a friend?
Yes
Why?
learnt alot from the course and had a great teacher giving me all the help and support i needed. I completed my level two with the same lady so it was good to have a familiar face to speak with and felt confident and comfortable enough to explain concerns and if i needed any further support
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Realise?
once the webinars are completed its pretty straight for ward and is completed fairly quickly so sit through the boring webinars and all the common sense information being talked to you, discuss everything you know and always link it back to what you do in your setting as they always want it
