Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a Supply Chain Manager I look after all of the partners that we work with delivering apprenticeships. As part of this I complete monthly performance management reviews checking performance against targets as well as managing the contracts, negotiations and the quality of delivery. I also make sure the learners are having the right experience and that the supply chain partners are providing the right content and support.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the programme as it has allowed me to not only gain new knowledge that I can put into practice at work in my current role but it has also helped me with future career options. I have enjoyed being on the programme with different people in lots of different roles which has helped build my confidence but also allowed me to understand how projects work in all different sectors

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned a lot of new skills on my apprenticeship. I had been involved with projects before but didn't ever have any technical knowledge or guidelines to follow on how projects should be managed effectively. I have learned about critical paths, earned value and the project lifecycle, all which I didn't know about before

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well organised. At the beginning we provided with a course timetable, a guide to OneFile and an APM textbook. I have a 'classroom' (online) session every month that covers a different topic each time and then have regular one to one reviews with my training and development officer. After each session work is set for me to complete on my Onefile.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I actually receive quite a lot if support from my employer. My line manager is always at my regular review meetings and my manager monitors my 20% off the job training and makes sure my workloads aren't too high that I can complete my off the job training. She also gives me exposure to other areas of the business so that I can help develop my skills further
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have received enough support from my provider. As stated previously I have a session every month but if there's anything I don't understand or need any further help with my training and development officer always puts in the times to help support me. They are easy to get hold of any no question feels too stupid to ask
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification has helped me in my role as I now have the core knowledge that I was lacking before. I also understand why we do things in a specific or and what impact not having a proper project pan with clear guides and timelines can have on the success of a project or the business overall
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
As part of my role I am invited to professional networking events (pre-covid) with other training providers within our industry. I also take part in charity events that we run as a business for our metal health awareness partner Mind including our current 'walk the world' to raise money. In the past we have also had sellers, health practitioners and even a radio station come to our head office to provide informative and fun activities

I really enjoy working for Realise. I have been a Supply Chain Manager for over 20 years and Realise is the beast place I've worked. They really care about their staff as individuals and are supportive, providing great opportunities. They have the right work culture that promotes openness, honesty and integrity. I love working here
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Realise?
I would advise people to do it. The move to Realise is one of the best career moves I have made. The company has been through some changes over the years but don't let this out you off, these changes were for the better and it has allowed Realise to become a great place to work.
