Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The scheme involved a lot of talks from partners about different practice areas. We also had many events about the firm’s culture and their drive for inclusion. We had many opportunities to speak to trainees and sessions about the type of work trainees do.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The scheme was excellent in telling us about both Clifford Chance as a firm and about the commercial law industry as a whole. It was incredibly informative and interesting to hear from different partners and trainees about what their work in different sectors looked like. It was also nice to hear about how strong and inclusive Clifford Chance’s culture is.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
There was a heavy emphasis on developing our skills throughout the scheme with a particular focus on improving upon your weaknesses from the assessment centre - for me I was able to develop my written communication skills via written tasks we did throughout the week and the online academy videos that we had access to both prior and during the scheme.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone I encountered on the scheme was lovely and incredibly helpful - everyone went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed and could make the most out of the experience. Graduate recruitment were particularly helpful and friendly throughout the scheme.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
The scheme was thoroughly enjoyable, every day was very interesting and entertaining. It gave a perfect insight into both Clifford Chance as a firm and the industry as a whole.
