Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role consists of over seeing all the administration duties within apprenticeships is up to date, making sure all our spreadsheet are correct, pulling reports of weekly basis, adding news learners to the DAS levy account. overseeing projects with our apprentices, sending our certificates to learners, attending review meeting with training providers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

To help me exceed in this programme is the support from my team and the college to help me through this. With this knowledge that I have gained, I am able to use this. Majority of the unit in programme were really suitable for the my job role and I will be able to use pass my knowledge down the chain to others.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since starting my apprenticeship I have gained many new skills- one of my units I learnt at Stakeholders, which was very interesting and this gave me a better understanding within the organisation, also I with a another unit I learnt about project management which was very interesting and useful because I'm using this technic now.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The whole programme was structures really well, the college would forward over the timetable well in advanced with indications of what units we would be covering and timelines. All our workshops were face to face which was really great because you got a better understand with others. My tutor was always on hand if i needed support
How much support do you receive from your employer?

From the start I received the best support from my line manager because they believe in me before I did. If I had any queries with this my apprenticeship my mentor who also my line manager, was able to reassure me and help me resolve this. Within Solent NHS Trust like to encourage learners
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I received good support from my training provider by helping me working towards my qualification . They always make sure that we get the best results from our workshops. I do enjoy attending these classes as they make you understanding the topic more easier. On occasions I did have difficulties and my tutor was there to advise me.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

With this qualification now, it helps me to progress better within my daily role which hopefully been progression with my trust- Solent NHS Trust. With all the knowledge that I have gained, I'm able to put this into practise for others. Also from this, it helps you to understand how the organisation works
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Over the last year, our trust Solent NHS Trust have organised many events online ranging from Yoga, mindfulness. There have been many events taken place for example within apprenticeships we like to celebrate achievements by organising an afternoon tea ceremony. We were planning to hold this face to face but due to covid with conduct this via Zoom and having all the afternoon teas delivered to their home addresses.

Why?
Working for the NHS especially for SOLENT NHS Trust they are like one big family who looks after you by supporting you. Every one within the trust is friendly and approachable and nothing is to much trouble to help each other. By working for our trust you are helping the public
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
When applying for a position within the NHS, I would recommend registering with NHS job for a job, registering with Gov.uk if looking for an apprenticeship. Research your career on the web, try and get some work experience if you are able to. If you are successful for an interview, know your knowledge about that particular service
