Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
In this role you learn about delivering stock to store, how to load unload trailers safely, efficiently and evenly. You learn about Pre trip checks, and how important it is to be safe and legal. You also learn about hitching and unhitching trailers. Learning roads and routes and about driver hours

4/5
Every days a learning day, it can be exciting, from not knowing you destination, to learning how to cope and deal with the unexpected. It can be stressful and yet very enjoyable. It has been frustrating at times because of Covid as test centres have been closed making it hard to get licences

Skills Development

On this apprenticeship I have learnt how to load trailers, about trailer safety, and how to drop and pick up trailers in a safe manner. Also I have gained a Class 2 licence, a driver qualification. As part of the course I've also gained qualifications in English and Maths

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The apprenticeship seems well structured and very supportive, every member of staff I've interacted with has been very friendly and very helpful. I've learnt that there's no such thing as a stupid question. There is a lot of communication between the different departments involved in this program
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I can not fault my employers, in every situation I know that they are always there to answer any questions I may have. They are also very understanding , good at supplying any equipment and training that you could possibly need. They also very good with helping to get a good work/ life balance.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
They are always there to answer any questions, offer any support that may be needed, they are very patient always willing to explain things even if they have already explained things before, I don't normally cope well with the classroom settings as I become frustrated easily, however I haven't felt like this on this course
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It is a whole new job role for me, so I feel all the training has helped me to learn, what I need to become I great driver, knowing that I can always ask for help. The training helps in understanding rules, regulations and laws
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
