Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves completing accounts for different companies, this involves posting client records and invoices, creating working papers and reconciling bank postings. I deal with clients through emails and phone calls and interact with colleagues on a day to day basis. I also complete tax for clients which is included in the accounts.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy working with my colleagues and new people, the team really supports my work. In terms of my apprenticeship, I receive support from my 'talent coach', tutors and colleagues. We also receive time for college to prepare us for our exams which we need for qualifications. The company has a great programme.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed many skills. Communication is a key skill - having dealt with colleagues and also clients in a professional workplace environment this skill has significantly developed and I now feel more confident interacting in these environments. Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well structured, apprentices have a training manager who structure college courses for you and enrol you on training courses that are spaced out for the most effective completion. You are given work time to complete these courses and to complete exams. I have a meeting every 12 weeks with my talent coach as well as my colleagues and managers
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employers, managers and colleagues. Regular meetings are scheduled to check on my progress to ensure I am happy with my work and supported. I have a colleague who is a similar age to me who is my assigned 'buddy' who always supports me with my work when i need it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The exams I taking for my qualifications link almost perfectly to my job role and involve many of the same things, methods and techniques. I am using many things i learn for my exams in my work and my work helps me understand my course content for my exams too.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have heard from colleagues that there are many opportunities for extra curricular activities, including football teams (5 a side), networking events, open days and team morale boosting days. However, due to Covid I personally have not been able to do any of these activities but i hope to soon

Why?
The RSM course has been very well structured and makes it easy for me to manage my time and responsibilities. I receive a lot of support to ensure i am progressing well and feel like i am learning many new skills (work and socially related). So i would certainly recommend
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSM?
To do some research about the company before applying to ensure you are aware and in line with the company's values. To make sure you are ready to be very organised! As you will need to manage your time well and keep up to date with all the work you are completing.
