Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am the education team administrator. I work as part of the school's outreach programme. We work with students in year 10-13 primarily, however on occasion we also work with younger students. The aim of the programme is to target and improve students employability skills, through a range of events such as career talks, apprenticeship talks, CV workshops, mock interviews etc...
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
My apprenticeship programme has many different aspects that are great. Personally, I enjoy the community of apprentices and meeting and networking with new people. Multiverse has given me the opportunity to be a community leader in the content team, which I love doing. My apprenticeship coach is also so supportive and we have a great relationship which makes me feel comfortable and confident in my apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Since starting my role at Capgemini and my apprenticeship at Multiverse I have learnt many new skills. I have improved my PowerPoint and Excel skills. Excel is something that I struggled with before, however, with some help and coaching from my colleagues, I improved drastically. I have learnt to engage and manage stakeholder expectation, as well as negotiate well. My organisation skills have also improved due to the tracking of data I need to do at work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is really well organised. We have a lecture once a month to learn the content. Then we get an assignment which is due in one month. During that time we also have a 1-1 meeting with our coach, with whom we discuss our monthly objectives and share any concerns we may have. Our objectives are also due in a month.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My line manager is very supportive. They allow me to block out time in my diary when I need extra time for my apprenticeships. They check in regularly on how I'm doing with my assignments and content creation and if I need any help. They update the rest of our team when I do well in my apprenticeship and often encourage me to get involved with the community at Multiverse, which I do.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I don't receive any finance from my apprenticeship provider. I get paid 1.3 per month from my role at Capgemini. My apprenticeship provider supports me through lectures, workshops, community events, coaching, and opportunities such as creating content. Recently, we partnered up with a news outlet for which we will be able to write blogs and get more recognition.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My role at Capgemini links to Project management a lot because I deal with the day to day or one-off volunteering aspects of the programme we run. For example, each school we go to is a porject in it self. We'd have to negotiate the times and dates of the event, the content, the number of coorporate volunteers they rqueire, the year groups involved and how many students. Then I have to lead on that by finding volunteers, briefing them, communicaing with career leads etc... project manageement helps me utalise different techniques to make my work more efficcient.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, we can volunteer to help out other teams, we can get involved in becoming a mental health hero, a digital inclusion ambassador, social media ambassadors etc... These are only some examples, there are many more and if we have an idea that isn't out there yet, the managers are always happy to hear it and support.

Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Capgemini is a fast-paced company who believe in the professional development of their employees. We have 7 values which are at the core of everything we do, and with which I and many other resonate with. We all share those values which create a sense of harmony at work. I always feel supported by my team and external team. My manager always pushes me to develop my skills and network which I love. My manager is more like a mentor to me which makes me love my job even more.
